Reiki for Your Stress Reduction

by Hector Milla

Have you ever heard the word Reiki?

If you want to get rid of stress that you may experience after work, Reiki is the answer to your problem. With this, you will feel a different form of relaxing and soothing comfort.

Reiki is greatly different from Yoga, even though both of them have the same main goal of promoting healing, relaxation and stress reduction. It also uses a different form of acquiring the so-called unseen life force energy.

The technique was first introduced in Japan. It is simply initiated through the laying on hands wherein the unseen energy flows into the person's body that relieve them from stress and making them feel invigorated.

The Reiki technique believes that if the internal energy that transpires in a person's body is low, he is more likely to suffer from different kinds of illnesses. On the other hand, if it is high, it only manifests an active and healthy life for a person.

After a client undergoes this kind of healing, he will feel a glowing radiance inside and outside his body. A treated person will take things easily because it will heal the entirety of their being. It includes healing of a person's body, emotions, mind and spirit.

One of the advantages of Reiki is that it complements other forms of treatment. Reiki is often administered to lessen the side effects and symptoms that have been brought about by a person's illness.

At present, several clients have already made testimonies about the effectiveness of the Reiki treatment. It has already cured them and has done a miraculous healing. This paves the way for Reiki healing to be patronized by other people.

Yoga Exercises - What Has Cannabis Got In Common With Yoga

by Kacy Carr

What has yoga exercises and cannabis got in common - well that is simple they both relate to joints. Cannabis is smoked in a joint and yoga exercises help relax the joints. Let us focus on the how the natural way is the legal way to ease troubled minds and aches and pains.

The Natural way comes with no prison sentence.

Yoga exercises - moves and postures are easily practiced but most importantly should be supervised under the guidance from a master in the field of yoga. Tutorial videos are quite popular among the housebound. People with an illness that prevents them leaving the house can still follow the thousands of Yogis world wide by practising yoga exercises in the comfort of their own home.

One of the top reasons for why yoga exercises are performed on a wide scale is due to stress related concerns. Anxiety and sufferers of depression have seen the difference in themselves after learning yoga. Doctors are now referring their patients to join local yoga classes. Doctors realize that this is a safe natural mental medicinal medication which can ease symptoms of different types of illnesses and disorders. (Depending on the illness)

For beginners who are attending a class for the first time you can expect your yoga exercises to be light movements. This may entail short workouts on twists, balance, sit up poses and different other moves. You may also find that there is a time limit on how much you do in the first few stages of your yoga exercises due to you being a novice.

Once you have become familiar with what ever type of yoga you have chosen to practice - it is then you will begin to notice the change in your whole approach towards practice sessions. Yoga and the people who exercise this exercise become very devoted to an extent that it becomes a passionate piece of their life and why wouldn`t they when it helps them to keep in shape and lead a healthier life

Remember what is on the inside needs as much nurturing like that on the outside - in other words muscles joints and internal organs. There are many types of yoga exercises carefully structured to loosen the bones taking away stiffness or any other discomforts that can cause bouts of stress. By practicing yoga exercises on a regular basis you will notice the flexibility of how the body alters in a very relieving manner.

If you are not sure of the type of yoga that best suits your needs then talk with a yoga master. The Practice of yoga exercises due to health matters should not go ahead until you speak with your doctor - this goes for any exercises you intend on taking up.

Yoga is not a cure and has no magical powers where you regain sight after years of living in darkness nor can it cure the deaf from their world of silence but one thing it can do is work MIRACLES on the mind. This is done by positive thoughts inserted into the mind by your own way of thinking where you take what is rightfully yours and that is contentment.

100% fit in mind body and soul is what healthy living is all about. With yoga you claim what is rightfully yours control. www.want2yoga.com Take steps now to move on with your life www.allaboutonlineeducation.com

Back Massage: A Proven Way to Relieve Back Pain

by Saurabh Jain

Back pain is a common ailment; however, people may get better within a few weeks through massages. Massage is known to improve blood flow and eases tension, thus providing relaxation to muscles. While gentle massages are pleasurable, it does not necessarily offer relief to sufferers of acute low back pain. Combining massage with other treatments, such as physical therapy and chiropractic, is likely to produce best results. In addition, back massages, in combination with non-medical treatments, back exercises and good diet, ensures gradual pain relief.

Benefits of Back Massage Therapy

According to the American Massage Therapy Association, research proves that massage therapy provides many important health benefits, including:

Improvement in blood circulation in the body, which aids in the recovery of muscle soreness due to physical activity.

Relaxation of muscles for an improved range of motion. Muscle relaxation also helps in the treatment of insomnia.

Increased endorphin levels. The increase in endorphin levels is actually one of the greatest benefits of the massage therapy. Endorphins are body chemicals that lend a feel-good feeling, which is very effective in managing chronic pain.

It is important to ensure that precautions are exercised while receiving massage therapy. Your muscle should relax in response to the pressure applied by a massage therapist, in the absence of which, it is possible that muscles are inflamed. In such cases, you should not opt for back massages as a treatment option and consult his/her doctor for the treatment. Most muscle spasms require four massage treatments, usually spread over a six weeks period, to achieve best results. If muscle spasms do not respond to the neuromuscular therapy within two massages, try using another therapy.

If you have severe lower back pain, it is advisable that you undergo thorough medical checkup before commencing the massage therapy.

Know The Causes Of Lower Left Back Pain to Avoid Discomfort

by Saurabh Jain

Lower Left Back Pain is common among people and can be caused by a number of reasons. Improper use of the back muscles lead to Lower Left Back Pain. If you sit on a chair for longer periods, say in front of the computer, poor posturing, where the left side of the back is under constant strain, can lead to Lower Back Pain.

Lower Left Back Pain is part of the larger lower back pain condition, which affects people mostly. The reason why the back suffers can be attributed to our sedentary life style. An office job in the pre-computer era was not as strenuous for the back as it is now. In those days, people would keep shifting weight and position in their chairs to allow rest to the back. Now with computer monitors fixed in a particular position, there is little scope for adjusting your position and weight in your office chair. Sitting in one particular position for hours together puts the lower back under a lot of strain. The back cannot take this constant strain on everyday basis. This initially leads to lower back stiffness and gradually the back starts getting painful.

The lower back cushions the weight of the upper body, and it acts as a shock absorber to reduce the impact of walking and running. Joggers, who jog on cemented tracks or on roads, expose their backs to greater risk of injury because of higher intensity of shock. Lower Left Back Pain can start with injury to the left leg, hip or back. The muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, discs and bones are under constant strain when we are mobile. Our turning, twisting and bending movements also put the lower back under strain. Regular back stretching and strengthening exercises will keep your back supple and strong.

Infection of the left kidney and the sciatica nerve of the left leg can also cause Lower Left Back Pain. If you experience sharp pains in the left side of the back, consult a physician to diagnose your condition.

Wellness Achieved Through Meditation

by Greg Mauro

The process of meditation used to calm your mind and lead to inner-peace is centuries old. The driving force behind meditation is that if one can attain a peaceful mind, they will be free from anxiety, worries and negative forces. Ideally, they will be in complete control of their mind - controlling thoughts, feelings and anxieties.

One of the most important aspects of meditation is breathing. For beginners, control and focus on breathing does not come easy. Many let their minds wander to things that preoccupy their days and lose focus. Mastering your breathing pattern is the first step towards mental wellness as it helps lay the groundwork for a calm mind.

A good seat and comfortable posture are ideal for meditation. Certain aspects to aim for include: straight (but not tense) back, head floating naturally above the shoulders, chin turned slightly down and pelvis tilted slightly forward. Most meditate while sitting down; sitting cross-legged is the most popular positioning. If you cannot get comfortable with these positions, try shifting around, but the main keys are to be relaxed with a straight back.

Many will often try to meditate while lying down. Be wary of this as it is easy to fall asleep. Though that can be relaxing in its own right, it does nothing in the process of bringing inner peace as you will find yourself waking up to the same mental disarray.

Meditation is a great way to promote personal wellness. Stress and anxiety derive from thoughts (usually negative) racing through the mind, destroying any sense of relaxation of contentment. Take time to meditate whenever you can. It doesn’t need to be everyday, or for long periods at a time. But every chance you get to clear your thoughts and focus on your inner-self will clear your goals and ambitions and put you on your way towards mental wellness.

Heartburn Cure! Tips To Mellow Down That Burning Heartburn Pain

by Jed Baguio

Heartburn is described as a burning sensation that can be felt in the chest specifically at the lower sternum. Such pain is caused by a reflux of digestive acid that shoots up and enter the lower esophagus thus resulting to a burning sensation and acute pain.

This condition is also called as acid reflux, cardialgia, pyrosis and GERD.

Statistically, 60 million of Americans suffer from this heartburn condition and needless to say its never pleasant when it occurs. That’s why this article is written. To help you alleviate the pain and ultimately achieve heartburn cure. But because of the limitations of the length of this article. I'll be just covering some general heartburn cure, but if you want a detailed, step by step and immediate need for heartburn cure. I'll be happy to help you, just follow the link at the bottom of the article. It points to my blog and I'll recommend you to an ebook that has proven track record helping people achieve heartburn cure. Try to avoid scams, and this one is not. Because over a thousand of ex-heartburn sufferers can't be wrong.

Enough of that and let's get to the meat.

It's already know that some substances can cause heartburn. So, by simply avoiding this "triggers" you can achieve heartburn cure before it even started. Pretty neat huh! But what substance that usually cause heartburn? Well here’s the top 10. Drum roll please....

1. Caffeine - The top spot goes to caffeine and its derivatives, like colas, chocolates and some teas. This substances can cause the esophagus sphincter muscle to relax, thus resulting to backward flow of digestive acids.

2. Fatty Foods and Oily Foods - These substances slows down digestion because they need special enzymes that can digest them. The problem with longer digestion, foods begin to pile up in the stomach increasing pressure to the sphincter of the esophagus and eventually give way. There goes the digestive acids again, burning the esophagus.

3. Tomatoes - Tomatoes and tomato based products also causes heartburn. This kind of foods also relaxes the sphincter of the esophagus muscles.

4. Smoking - The chemicals from puffing a stick of cigarette causes to weaken the sphincter muscle of the lower esophagus.

5. Alcohol - Has relaxing effects on the sphincter muscle of the esophagus.

Now that you know what kind of foods to avoid. Let's add some tips on how to actually achieve heartburn cure.

You should try to eat high fiber diets. Also you can try some herbal supplements like ginger tea or ginger ale, which by the way is gaining popularity recently. Drinking lots of water also provides heartburn cure. Swallowing saliva. Saliva reduces acidity by 50%. Also it is best done with chewing gums, coz it will stimulate to produce more saliva.

But still, these are recommendations. It's best to ask you’re physician before trying anything.

Relaxing With Zen Shiatsu

by Rebecca Prescott

The origins of zen shiatsu is in Oriental medicine, but it was adapted to the Japanese environment.

All types of shiatsu stimulate blood circulation directly, like western style massage such as Swedish. In doing so, both of these systems help release poorly flowing blood in the skin and muscles, and hence help ease tension and stiffness that arise from that congestion.

But there are important differences, both in the way shiatsu is practised, and its other effects. Unlike western style massages, shiatsu uses the meridian system, which can be pictured as like the arteries of our physically embodied energetic system. Consequently, the effects of shiatsu go much deeper, and can help the organs themselves, our autonomic nervous system, and our hormones, as well as our joints, tendons and muscles.

There are actually at least 6 different styles of shiatsu practised in the West today, though some practitioners combine the different approaches in one treatment session. Zen shiatsu was developed by Shizuto Masunaga, and came out of a time in Japan when the most popular style of shiatsu, taught by Namikoshi's schools, had a strong alignment with western medicine. Masunaga sought to bring back the traditional Oriental medical approach and philosophy, as well as maintaining the advances in physiology that had been developed in the West.

In developing zen shiatsu, Masunaga facilitated a more complete understanding of the meridian system. He taught how to use the meridians to balance a person's psychological and physical systems so that the body was in a greater position to heal itself.

Zen shiatsu is generally less painful than Namikoshi's style, in the hands of a skilled practitioner. The reason is that both hands are kept on the body, and the object is to find the most 'kyo' and most 'jitsu' meridians, and work on these together. Kyo refers to an 'empty' meridian - that is, one with the least amount of energy. And jitsu in this context means a meridian with an excessive amount of energy. So, by working on the two together, the body achieves a state of balance.

When a zen shiatsu practitioner is diagnosing for kyo and jitsu, the awareness is on the relationship of meridians to each other. They define each other. If a person's body was in a complete state of balance, there would be no kyo or jitsu. But if one meridian becomes kyo or jitsu, it causes an imbalance in another. So the key is to assess the meridians in relation to each other to find the 'match', that when treated, will balance out.

Shiatsu can be practised at home, on oneself, on family and friends. But a professional shiatsu involves the practitioner having both a good grasp of treatment and diagnosis. Diagnosis, in shiatsu and Oriental medicine, is quite different to the western medical approach. Shiatsu takes a very individualized approach - it doesn't look for a disease with a set criteria of symptoms. Rather, it assesses the energetic and physical balance - or imbalance- within the conditions the individual is presenting, and treats accordingly. So even though two people may come in with headaches, the treatment, the choice of meridians, the combination of stretches, would be different.

Shiatsu is very effective at preventing disease by addressing imbalances before they manifest as illnesses. Another difference between it and a western approach, is the integration of the responsibility of the individual to maintain their own health, through choices that support their own health. These choices may be dietary, lifestyle, or more fundamental choices about the direction their life is taking.

Exercise Cellulite Away

by David Chandler

Exercise Cellulite Away

A simply analogy that describes cellulite is skin that appears to have a cottage cheese appearance. The lumpy appearance of the skin is actually deposits of fat and/or water that are trapped in the connective tissue beneath the skin. The most common areas for cellulite to develop are on the hips, buttocks, and thighs.

Causes of Cellulite

Cellulite develops from a number of reasons. The main causes though are circulation problems, water retention, and dietary factors that include food additives, chemical preservatives, & hormones. In addition, lack of exercise, excess ingestion of saturated fats and sugar and poor hydration are other factors in developing cellulite.

Reducing or Eliminating the Appearance of Cellulite

There are ways in which you can reduce or even eliminate cellulite. However, to rid your body of this condition will take discipline to exercise. Below is a fitness program to get you on your way to better looking skin.

As with any exercise program, a warm-up is required to reduce the threat of strain or injury on your muscles. A good warm-up exercise could be 15 minutes of aerobic dance, and some general stretching.

After you have done your warm up, you are ready to begin your exercise regiment. The first exercise should be strength exercises or weight training. Start out with lightweights and then as your program progresses, raise the weights to a higher level.

Recommendations for exercise are to do at least 15 minutes of strength exercises. In addition, you should do 10 repetitions of each exercise for the targeted area. After completion of 10 repetitions, you should do a few stretching exercise for about 20 seconds. Stretching out the targeted muscle will increase flexibility and increase strength. Increasing strength will build muscle thus eliminating cellulite.

For example, if your thighs are the problem area, use exercises that are designed for the thighs. These could be leg lefts or side leg lifts. In addition, there is exercise equipment exclusively made for thighs.

If cellulite is on the buttocks, there are a number of ways to eliminate it. Doing lunges or squat exercises would be one way. Moreover, to increase the effects of your exercises, consider adding weights to you ankles or holding weights at your side. Exercise machines are another possibility to get you on your way to reducing or eliminating cellulite.

There is no easy cure for cellulite. Reducing its appearance or eliminating it altogether takes some work and dedication. A good exercise regimen will not only improve your cellulite, it will promote a sense of well being and improved health all around.
